Kodi joined the family as an untouched/unbroke two year old. He was broke & trained by us, having been truly amazing since day one. Kodi is one of our dearest personal horses, the foundation of our lesson program. He’s the go-to mount for anything from ponying babies & long trail rides to our backup show horse! He’s a true jack of all trades and a fine example of what good breeding & training can produce!

Onyx was sent to us as an unbroke two year old. We started him under saddle, afterwards he stayed in our barn for nearly three years! Onyx is now a privately owned horse in our lesson program. He was, and still is, a barn favorite!

Drogon came to us for basic groundwork training as an untouched two year old and officially joined the family as a three year old. Knapstrupper
Crikey is a 19.2 Knabstrupper that was green at the walk, trot, canter, (w/t/c) when he came to us. He is now schooling in the one meter jumpers, learning fourth level dressage movements, and is showing promise for the 2024 show season.

Mariposa
Mari was purchased as a three year old unbroke, unhandled mare with a history of abuse and neglect. She was rehabilitated, broke to ride, and trained as a hunter/jumper here at Desert Rose with the help of our working student.

Ramen was one of our favorite ponies and will forever hold a special place in our hearts! He came in as a lead line broke four year old with the sweetest personality. With the help of our very special working student, he became a fabulous hunter/jumper.

Jessie James
Jessie was rescued from neglect, abuse, and starvation. With lots of patience and love, Jessie slowly came around and won the hearts of everyone he met.
He now lives in Vermont where he enjoys days filled with green pastures, a warm barn, and all the love a pony could hope for.
Tulip
Tulip was rescued alongside Jessie, but thankfully was in better health & spirits. Tulip was rehabilitated, started under saddle and sold as a lead line pony after discovering her love for children.
